A Pharmacy Partner Guide for Connecting to Big Sky Care Connect
In collaboration with the Montana Department of Health & Human Services and Montana Medicaid, BSCC is launching a new initiative to improve patient medication histories across Montana. We are requesting your pharmacy’s participation in this important effort to enhance care coordination, patient safety, and public health outcomes for all Montanans.
By sharing timely, all-medication dispense data through BSCC, providers gain a more complete view into a patient’s medical history. This empowers them to make better informed clinical decisions, reduce preventable adverse drug events, and improve continuity of care for patients statewide.
1
Execute Agreements
The first step is to connect with a Partner Success Manager and complete a Partner and Business Associate Agreement with BSCC.
Production data should not be shared until these legal agreements are signed.
How to Connect
2
Create Secure Account
Once registered, you will create a submitter account on your secure data submission portal, RxGov. You will need to create separate accounts for testing (UAT), and production (PROD) environments. An administrator will active your account, and you will be notified via email when it is ready.
3
Submit Your Dispense Data
With an active account, you can begin submitting a daily file containing all controlled and non-controlled medication dispense data to BSCC.
Data Scope: This submission must include both non-controlled prescription medications and controlled substances.
Please note that the submission process is separate and distinct from the mandatory reporting of controlled substance data to the Montana Prescription Drug Registry (MPDR)
